Don't go to Dunkin' around the corner. Go to Capitol Coffee House instead. (Trust me, you'll thank me.)
CCH's coffee is stronger, cheaper, and yummier. Their food is diner/deli style; don't expect anything healthy here, but it's real food, cooked real fast, right in front of you.
Love the vibe of locals. An authentic (and delicious) gem in Boston! -

By far the best breakfast sandwiches! Great food, with great prices and the people are so friendly!

Less "coffee house" and more short order.
Located right across from the Ashburton entrance to the Capitol, this place is a little bit less "coffee house" and tilts a little bit more towards "diner." It's far from fancy. This is the spot to grab a quick bite and stick to the simple stuff.
I got a coffee (Do they have latte here? Maybe, but probably not and definitely not your mocchachino.) with a breakfast bagel sandwich. Efficient, quick and not special. But good.
No complaints here. Capitol Coffee House gets it done. -

Disappointed that I've been working in the area and few months ago discovered this place. Really good breakfast!

Old school Boston coffee shop and breakfast joint right next to MA state house. Great spot to meet before you head in.
